Wow. Have you ever tried to rebuild a house? Daunting. Have you ever tried to do it with two small kiddos? Now things are getting interesting!

Our Dill Pickle

Our little dill pickle took a bad rap initially for being difficult to deal with, and a little more high maintenance than her older sister. Well, it's time that we give our little pickle a little love, as she has blossomed into a wonderful little two month old, she just happens to be one that knows what she wants.

Looking cute waiting for a doctors appointment.

She's a snuggler. Here she is at Tio Bruce's house snuggling with a blanket.

Here she is at home snuggling with a little stuffed bronco that Grandma BB gave her. (she's crazy for cryin', and she's crazy for lovin' you)

Stretches

and smiles

miles of smiles!

with tummy time in the work, she has been practicing holding her head up.

And here she is multi-tasking: holding head up AND smiling!

The 4th of July and Uncle Bobby and Abuela Mejor

What's the most patriotic thing you can think of? A red white and blue unicorn battling a soviet centaur on top of a space shuttle blaring Hank Williams while Norman Rockwell paints the scene? Correct.

For the fourth of July we visited the air and space museum out at Dulles, the Udvar museum. And it was ... AWESOME.

They had planes galore, helicopters, a space shuttle (spoiler alert) etc.

Imogen got all gussied up and rolled around the halls in her finest stroller.

Grandma lundberg did the same.

Ditto Dilly.

Shuttle is AWESOME!

Dilly was clearly impressed as well.

Dad and Imogen liked looking at the various exhibits.

This is a phone. No joke. Move along.

Star wars themed USPS mail boxes. No joke here, just awesome.

After the museum we went home and had a nice little snack before the fireworks. We were able to get four generation of Lundberg women together on one couch. Quite an accomplishment.

Tiffany and Linda lead the charge to the capital for the fireworks.

"and the rockets red glare ..."

It's amazing to watch the fireworks from behind the capitol. Sometimes we forget that this is our view from our neighborhood.

Stunning really.

Grandma and uncle bobby and grandma lulu had a great time watching the fireworks from the capitol.

Happy belated fourth of July everyone.

Cordelia is Two Months Old!!!

As per the tradition here at Bodgers building Bodgers, the monthly anniversaries of life are celebrated by trips to national monuments. This month Cordelia June Bodger turned 2 months old.

To Celebrate, we headed down to the National Mall (during the folk life festival - stay tuned for later posts on that) and we celebrated with the Washington Monument. This is the same monument Iggy used to celebrate her second month. (are you catching a theme here?!)

The perfect monument picture? I'm not going to say no!

In fact, here is Imogen recreating that fateful day in front of the Washington Monument on a cold January morning, almost 2 years ago.

Here's the whole fam (and dad looking like a total idiot. STRAIGHTEN UP!)

Just the little one with the folks (a little better here dad).

While we were there, the typical hijinx occurred. Iggy not cooperating.

Pretending she was a statute

wanting to push dad in her stroller

actually pushing dad in her stroller,

and then getting dad's chunky butt out of the stoller so she could properly go offroading with the stroller.

Dilly just zonked out in her stroller under the monument. HILARIOUS!

Thanks everyone for checking in. There will be a bunch more posts coming up in this coming week. Stay cool in this heat!

Summertime

Well, it's summertime. And here, that means finding ways to beat the heat. One of Iggy's favorite ways to beat the heat is to set up shop on the pool deck at Tio Bruce's.

When not lounging poolside, Imogen dawns her new life vest, and ventures into the pool. Sunscreen (check). Hat (check). Good looks (double check!).

When Cordelia is beating the heat, she has a more laid back approach. Simply find some air conditioning, and a view, and let the rest of the world come to her. I envy her style.

Imogen on the other hand, will seek out anybody who will swim with her (which is good for her parents in that they don't have to always be in the water with her, but bad for her parents in that she will swim off with ANYONE - these are two strangers - ahahaha just kidding, that's Allison and Kari Cunard!)

When not at Tio Bruce and Tia Allison's house, we make do with our little crab pool in the front yard.

May not be as big or deep, but still pretty fun!

Leave suggestions for ways to beat the heat this summer in the comments section! Enjoy the hot weather!
